When I learned that I could write a story of any genre a wished, I already had my story planned. Can you guess what genre I chose? That isn't really a hard question if you just look at my title. I chose fantasy! This was independent, which means that I did this without much help. This is also the last writing unit of the year! My fantasy story is about a girl named Mica who finds this tree which takes her... you know what? (without any further ado) Just read the story and find out what happens!

This story begins with a whoosh of the wind and sparkles getting scattered everywhere. "Gigi! Why are there sparkles?" Jojo asked. "You and your little kid fairy tails, go back to sleep!" the half asleep Gigi moaned. Jojo crawled up to the window next to their tiny bunk bed. Her eyes searched around outside. Yep. The grass was still looking pink and it was shimmering in the moonlight. Where would sparkles be coming from? Out of the corner of her eye, she glimpsed a shadow running away. Running? Jojo wasn't even sure if it was running. Was it... g...ga...gall...gallop...galloping? Jojo knew enough to know that they were nowhere near the woods or any habitat for an animal. Her teddy bear slipped from her hand while she was in those dazzling thoughts. She crouched down to pick it up and she heard leaves rustling outside. Her head popped up through the window. Jojo saw the most amazing thing in her life. It was a real, live unicorn in her back yar...

Fantasy. You can do anything you wish with it. Unlike realistic fiction, non-fiction and personal narratives, anything can happen anytime, anywhere. Simple, right? Wrong. Actually, things cannot just pop out of nowhere. They have to have some sort of a meaning to come into the story. That was one of the many things that I needed to do to make this piece good. It took about 1 and 1/2 months to complete this story. Heads up to you, this story has nothing to do with mermaids, the ocean, a girl who falls off of her surfboard, an evil mermaid/creature who wants to make Earth and ocean and rule it and the surfboard girl needing to believe in  herself before it is too late. Wow! I get a chance to choose between 2 superpowers! This is kind of a hard choice, I mean, invisibility. Imagine all of the things you could use that amazing skill for. Flight. It just sounds so amazing. However, I think I would go with flight. If you are wondering why I have chosen this, keep on reading (I hope this can convince someone who disagrees with me!). The first reason I chose flight is because, it is something I have always wanted to do. It sounds so exciting and fun-filled. Picture this, you slowly start rising higher and higher into the air. The breeze is cool, and the sun is beautiful and golden. Small birds are chirping around you, while you look down and see a wonderful view of people skittering around. You could even rise up into a cloud, even though that might not be the best idea if it seems stormy. You can surprise your parents and friends all the time. Can't you imagine their shocked appearance? I would be using this on my little brother a lot (evil grin)!...
