PE Reflection
- What did you enjoy most about PE this year? What did you enjoy least about PE this year?
I liked being able to play and collaborate with a lot of different people, and my teammates were all supportive when I messed up, most people also made conscious efforts to pass and include everyone. It was also interesting to try such as wide variety of sports. What I didn't really enjoy was running the mile, but it was still important because it made me persevere in the end. I definitely improved over the year, but it wasn't my favorite because I'm not a runner.
2. What units did you enjoy most? What units would you add or change?
I really liked the water polo unit, because though I enjoyed swimming, it was mainly because everyone was involved and having fun in that unit. I also had fun in floor hockey, soccer and field for similar reasons. It would be interesting if there were a dance/gymnastics/yoga unit, because it's a different type of fitness and it would help students improve the flexibility standard. However, the one thing I would change is the swimming unit, because a majority of it was the biathlon and then mainly free time. Understandably, there weren't many games or activities we could do for that unit, but it would be more fun if there were.
3. What did you enjoy most about Health this year? What did you enjoy least about health this year?
The most important unit to me was probably the risks of drug use because we didn't really know much about the psychology of drug use, and learning about it not only was an effective warning but also opened my eyes. The nutrition unit was a little boring, because we already know a lot about that topic from last year. However, I like how brain breaks are incorporated into health, and I hope they continue.
4. What units would you add or change to Health for next year?
I think Health already had everything it needed, maybe to make the nutrition unit more interesting, we could have a day that people bring in recipes or food. 5. What is something that you can improve as you pursue PE and Health classes in high school during the next four years?
I can continue to build up stamina and my leadership skills in the future, and I will make a large effort to make sure everyone, including myself, it engaged in whatever sport we are playing. In high school, I will build up my communication skills, as I narrow down the sports that I will play.
