Water Project- Weeks 1-4
Week 1:
Last weekend Jordyn, Lane, and I started making our flyers, and then we printed them out. We rolled it up, and tied it up with blue string, after that we went strolling in my friends' neighborhood, and put the flyers in the mailboxes. People started asking us on what we were doing so we got to tell them. After that, we started to plan out and do last minute checking on the presentations for lower grades.
Week 2:
This week has worked out really well. We got all of the planning and creating completed. We have multiple presentations coming up now. We have a bake sale coming up. And we are ready!

Week 2:
This week has worked out really well. We got all of the planning and creating completed. We have multiple presentations coming up now. We have a bake sale coming up. And we are ready!
The previous week we had given out flyers to Jordyn's neighborhood to spread awareness. This may have worked in some places but not others. This week, since we know that we have already done the flyers, we decided that we needed to start on the presentations and little pamphlets to hand out.
I started working on the presentations at home on school days. We all worked on different slides and we sometimes even met at the library to practice. Lane worked on role models, Jordyn worked on importance and I edited and added in the explanatory and entertaining slides. This weekend, we met together and practiced, suggesting new ideas and doing last minute checks. We confirmed everything with all of the teachers we were presenting to. Mr. Davidson (4th grade) and Mrs. Woody (1st grade were the first ones, so we tweaked the presentation until it was good enough for 4th and 1st graders.
We had signed up to sell baked goods to raise money and awareness. Jordyn and Lane had chosen recipes. Everyone had fun and contributed to making the cupcakes, brownies and cookies.
It was hard, but also fun. They weren't perfect, but I'd say they were pretty good. We made them water themed- earth cookies and dirty water cupcakes with fondant on top.
While Lane and Jordyn chose recipes, I made little pamphlets to hand out with cupcakes and cookies. They were basically asking would you drink this nasty water and saving water before it's too late. One is a slogan and the other is more like and intriguing factor.
We are going long and strong. We have little kid presentations to selling goods in school all the way to presenting in big-time offices! We shall keep going forward!
Week 3: We had a bake sale at snack where we sold marble cake. It was on March 18. We all made different desserts: two types of cupcakes, brownies and cookies. We made $67 so in total we raised $90. We had decided on donating this money to "Water for South Sudan". I printed out more of my flyers and tried a long time to hand them out. Not bad, but only 25 to 30 people accepted the flyers.
Week 4:
On Spring break, I went to India on holiday. Most of my friends and family were there, so I set up a big presentation for them. I even presented in Indian offices too! They were all really polite and intrigued, and they are going to tell all of their friends.
