Can I Convince You?

I deserve a day off from school because...

For one reason, I sometimes have late after school activities. I eat dinner take a shower, spend a little time playing and watching T.V. with my family, and have an hour's worth homework. I have to sleep late like at 9:30 to 10:00! I am tired and sleepy! Shouldn't I get a day off if I am still sleepy? I mean if I get too sleepy in the mornings, I might lag behind in class and not pay much attention. That would be bad.

Also, I don't get too much time to spend with my family. I spend much more time in school than at home. If you could spend some more time with your family, imagine how many things you could do. I know, I know, I have weekends, but one extra day would be quite nice. I mean, some kids leave really early in the morning and their sibling may leave later. Some moms and dads both work and they have to stay late at work, or they come home and have a meeting. Don't forget the traveling either. My parents will be back for a few months now. I want an extra day before they leave again!

What? I STILL can't convince some of you? School work is hard sometimes! May I also mention that there is a small bug of sickness going around? Like Stomach flu, or chicken pox, or hypothermia? Okay maybe that is a kind of extreme. However, colds can spread very fast and a day off will surely stop the infect child from spreading it around or not let it spread to uninfected kids. Back to the hard thing.

Now I know this is ridiculous, but sometimes it really can effect some children with problems. What can be worse than having a bad problem with hard schoolwork and everything jumbling around in your head? Also, we are tired! The thing is, people just think that we'll miss learning.  If our teacher thinks that we can do it, we'll skip the easy work and just take a little, I repeat, a little work home. Oh, and by the way, I love to read and write stories.

Sometimes though, I don't want to but I have to. What does this have to do with getting a day off? Too much of that makes people wear it, and people who do, it just gets worse and they have to spend a lot of money to get new ones. Wondering what it is?  I read and wrote so much, at my will and against my will, that now, guess what, I have glasses.

I really want to get a day off for the reasons above. I do not want new glasses, I want to be with my family and get more sleep (and playtime), I'm slightly tired of doing schoolwork, and I don't want to be sick. Don't you want to have a day off from whatever difficult thing you must do for at least one of the reasons above? You know I sure do. Is it enough to convince you? Only 1 day of rest (not including the weekend) will be enough to recharge. Or 2 days. Or a week :).

  1. Wow! I am lost for words. You wrote with such an amazing expression that I could almost hear you talking to me. You also made me feel like laughing and I can tottaly relate to you getting sick and all.

  2. You did a very good job on your convincing. I liked the way you had a lot of detail about each reason to show that you REALLY want a day off from school. Just one time in the first paragraph after "I eat dinner" you forgot to put a comma after that. But instead of that, good job Anushka!

    1. I agree with you Amber, if I was the principle of a school I would be convinced by this writing. Good job Anushka.

  3. It was really good and your reasons were good. You made it really long but all of it was good. I also go to bed at about 9:40 but it is from reading not homework. :).
    It was really good!

  4. Hahahahaha! that was funny. I liked how you said "WHAT AM I STILL NOT CONVINCING YOU?" Like someone really did not get it at all. If I were to say no that story would be very convincing and I would probably change my answer to YES I MOST DEFINITELY AGREE! Hahahahaha! Really great job!

  5. You did a great job using expression and LOTS of reasons why you should have a day off of school. I can't really think of any improvements. Great job Anushka!
