My Fakebook Project

What if the old gods and goddesses from their old myths found a way to spice things up? Found a new way to spice things up? Like something modern. Almost like Facebook, except it’s Fakebook? What would they do? Imagine what could happen...
Okay, maybe you don’t need to imagine, because I already took it to the next level. I created and account and posted the scenes of my myth in a more modern way. My goddess is Persephone, maiden of spring and queen of the Underworld. I used the Greek myth “The Kidnapping”. Persephone is a delicate and beautiful girl, who loves her family a lot. In her account, she is an excited and bubbly teenager who is very perky. Same thing, right? This would most likely be the modern version of her because Persephone doesn’t seem to be the type who get sad or angry. I tell Persephone’s side of her myth through the multiple posts I make. Sometimes I add in other characters with parts of their myths or I put a little bit of the other characters’ perspectives through comments. Persephone will update you on every bit of the big kidnapping that changed her whole life. Her Fakebook page not only shows you the exact parts of the myth, it is also a unique way to represent them.
To sum everything up, this Fakebook page really shows Persephone’s side of the myth and is almost like a big story, except, it’s in small posts. I had a lot of fun diving into the myth and exploring the characters’ emotions and finding ways to show them like you would on Facebook. Also, since the story is a lot about Demeter, I had to infer and challenge myself a lot to find out what exactly Persephone was or should have been feeling/thinking. However, I could have tried to do better with her friends. I really had floated into this myth and I hope that you understand and enjoy my posts as much as I enjoyed making my Fakebook page (finally, something that kids know how to do really well in school!)!
Here is the link to my Fakebook page. Oh, and you should probably scroll down to the bottom of the page and start with that post, or it will be very confusing (trust me). Have fun reading!
