Waking Up Early

I have seen many kids sleepy in the morning at school. I don’t think they like getting up early, so I think school should start later. I realize there are good things about getting up early but there are also bad things. You can miss school by falling sick or not listening in class. But getting up early can also help you by giving you practice for a job that starts early in the morning.

One reason why I don’t think getting up early is good is because You won’t get enough sleep. You might feel tired, grumpy, and not feel very well. Getting up early can make you miss a lot of fun things or even school. Another reason students should be allowed to sleep in longer is because you can be slow to get ready for school and easily miss the  morning bus . All of this connects with one morning when I was forced to get up early for school one day. I was too tired so I snapped at my dad for getting a uniform that was too wrinkled, I ate very slowly, and I ended up missing the bus. Parents sometimes waste money by paying bus fees when children miss the bus. This would not have happened if we did not have to get up so early.      
             
Another way to show that waking up early isn’t very good  for students is that we might not listen in class. If you don’t listen you may not know what is going on and therefore you will not learn anything. This is similar to a time when a few kids in my class had their heads on their desks and were not listening. The teacher asked one of them a question and he was unable to answer. I didn’t think he learned anything. In addition, if on the next day you learn more about the information you missed the day before, you will not understand. If we didn’t have to wake up so early, we would pay more attention in class.

I can see that starting school early might be a good thing.  I do not really agree though. Because even if it is good for you. Like what I said in first two paragraphs, you won’t listen very well in class or you can be very tired, grumpy and not feel well. I can see it might be good for you so you will get use to it, but not the best for different reasons. On the other hand, you can have a lot of homework from school and have an after school activity. You will come home late and you will have to do your homework. That will make you go to bed very late in the night. The next morning you need to wake up early again, but you will not sleep in. For an example I had a friend named Allie. And she said she also had to wake up early in her school. She didn’t like waking up early either. But one night she had a bunch of homework and she slept very late in the night. Because she was use to waking up she got to the bus and her homework was finished as well. Even if it isn’t very good for the after waking up, it might be good for the homework and after school activities.

  There might be good reasons for waking up early but there also are bad reasons. It might be good to get use to it but it isn’t very good for school or health. Some kids think nothing should happen. Others think school should start later. What I think is school should start later so kids get enough sleep as well as not miss any learning.
